Knead to Know #1 Liz ShuilteWell, while I enjoyed this super quick novella, I was SO lost i had to read the next book in the series. Evidently unless you've read some of Ms Shuiltes other books, Easy Bake series and the Jinn series, which I only noticed because of some of the other reviews, then you don't have to background to figure out whats going on. This needs to be made very apparent, and it isn't. Thats why I was so lost.
I've started book two, but honestly knowing I don't have the background story i'm not sure if I should even finish it or if i'll still be lost along the way.

Knead to Know The Knead to Know Series Book 1 edition by Liz Schulte Paranormal Romance eBooks Reviews
The story was good but almost too short and left you with a feeling something was missing. The main characters, Maggie, Boone, and Garret you got to know well enough without too many details. There seemed to be a whole world and cast of characters, though, that just received a passing nod. This could be because I have never read anything from Liz Schulte and this story is a spin-off, or this is just a teaser story and details will be readily available in future books. Either way, it did not detract from what was going on. I'm looking forward to book two and hope it holds up to expectations. This story really caught my attention and has wonderful potential to be long running!
I liked this Author's various related series--she's created an interesting World. I generally don't care for short books, but this one was cute.
I've read some of her other books in the Easy Bake Coven and Guardian series. Apparently this one takes place chronically after the others that I've read, but I was still able to figure things out. The supporting characters that appeared in this story were mostly from the other series.
I like the Author's style of writing, and overall, I find most of these books entertaining. But I'm still not a fan of short books.
"Knead to Know" is the first book in the series that shares its name written by Liz Schulte. Maggie Edwards is still trying to recover from the events that had recently taken place in her life. Since she can't sleep she figured she'd open up a bakery. With the opening day loaming in the near future, she has her hands full juggling it all. From nosey neighbors, itchy contacts, a psychic, and a shady means of getting fed, Maggie needs to keep it together long enough to survive her bakery's opening. Overall, I really enjoyed this novel. I really love it when authors expand the universe they have written by adding spin off series featuring cameos of familiar characters.
Nothing more nothing less. Another fragmented chapter, I thought this concept died in the 1800s with the penny dreadfuls. I recall the care and thought that formed the stories of Olivia, Holden, Corbin et. al. at the beginning. Where has that gone?
This book was cute and short but it is a spinoff of the Holden and Olivia Jinn series which is a spinoff of the Easy Bake Coven.
FULL DISCLOSURE I liked most of Easy Bake but didn't care for the Holden Olivia characters so I did not read the Jinn series.
That being said, I was OK with this story. I did buy the next 2 for 99 cents so I will read them but I'm not too optimistic ...
I found this book to be a lite and fluffy, just like egg whites should be, breath of fresh air. There were places where I was confused, but so was Maggie, that made it okay. Maggie has a pastry problem, she can't taste her food.
Maggie is a half vampire pastry chef who has purchased a store. She has one employee a carpenter named Boone who seems to have a gift of his own. He builds her display cases when the factory items she purchased will not be coming. He shows her his ideas and they are just what she has in mind. He also promises he can have them done on time.
Boone feels he must be around to help her, not just to be her taste tester.
I received this book for an honest review.
First I want to say that this was a pretty interesting story. Short story. It is centered on a half vampire baker. Which I feel was completely explained in a different series. It was definitely written as if the reader was already in the loop.
I did like the characters they were definitely fully developed. There is a lot of questions to be answered. So the MC is still getting used to her new life as a half vampire while opening a bakery. Her carpenter is mysterious, a reporter causes problems, and a Jinn wants to have a partnership.
The author did pack a lot into this book. Yet I was still left feeling like it would have benefited from more info and been a full novel.
